Dr. Isabel R. Hui, PT, DPT, Cert. MDT, Clinic Director

Dr. Hui is the Director of Physical Therapy at our West Covina/Baldwin Park clinic. She was born in Peru and moved to the USA almost twenty years ago. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. During her time at UCI, Dr. Hui conducted research, published her results in scientific journals and promoted her work at conferences where she received several awards. Passionate in caring for others, Dr. Hui had volunteered at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach as a Clinical Care Extender, tutoring underprivileged children in an after-school program, and participated in mission trips with her church to Mexico where she was able to use her bilingual skills to minister to the poor.

Dr. Hui is a firm believer in keeping the body active to maintain good health and avoid the negative effect of a sedentary life. This way of thinking combined with her passion for helping the community prompted her to become a physical therapist. In 2009, she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. Dr. Hui has almost a decade of experience treating different diagnoses and working with different patient populations, from newborns to the elderly, with great compassion and professionalism. She also has experience treating patients in different settings such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, schools, homes, and outpatient clinics.

Dr. Hui is continually learning new skills and techniques to provide her patients exceptional care. She attained her certification in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), to classifying patients suffering from any musculoskeletal condition. According to scientific studies, classifying patients based on clinical assessments will result in better patient outcomes, compared to non-classified patients. MDT emphasizes individualized patient care and promotes patient independence/self-confidence during the rehabilitation process. In her free time, Dr. Hui enjoys hiking with her husband or playing soccer with her four children.
